Project Manager – Global Programmes (80–100%)
The Volleyball Foundation harnesses the global reach and power of volleyball to connect, serve and inspire communities and contribute to positive and sustainable social impact. As the Foundation expands its international project portfolio, we are seeking an experienced, practical and highly independent Project Manager to support implementing partners and ensure projects achieve measurable and sustainable results. Purpose of the role: manage and support a portfolio of Volleyball Foundation projects throughout their lifecycle, working closely with implementing partners to strengthen project delivery, results-based management and impact measurement. Working hours: minimum 4 hours per day within 09:00–17:00 CET/CEST. Reporting to the Executive Manager, Volleyball Foundation.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of Foundation-supported projects throughout the project lifecycle — from development and onboarding through implementation, monitoring, evaluation and closure
- Track project objectives, activities, milestones, timelines, budgets, risks, results and reporting requirements
- Identify implementation challenges and support partners with practical corrective actions and project modifications
- Introduce and maintain practical Results-Based Management (RBM) approaches across supported projects
- Support partners to establish results frameworks: outputs, outcomes, indicators, baselines and targets
- Contribute to portfolio-level impact assessment, including Social Return on Investment (SROI) methodologies
- Provide practical guidance, coaching and training to implementing partners on project planning, RBM, KPIs, monitoring, risk management and reporting
- Review partner reports against agreed plans, milestones, KPIs, budgets and expected results; consolidate portfolio-level progress reporting and dashboards
- Undertake international project visits and provide in-person project-management and capacity-building support
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant professional experience managing international development, social impact or community development projects/programmes
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects or a project portfolio, including grassroots organisations and locally led implementing partners in resource-constrained contexts
- Demonstrated experience in project-cycle management, Results-Based Management (RBM), monitoring & evaluation, results frameworks, KPIs and progress reporting
- Experience supporting, coaching or training project managers and/or implementing partners
- Highly organised with a strong ability to work independently and solve problems in a remote, intercultural environment
- Excellent written and spoken English; availability to work a minimum of 4 hours per day within 09:00–17:00 CET/CEST and undertake international travel as required
Qualifications
- Experience in sport for development / sport for good, preferably within an international non-profit or foundation environment
- Experience in impact assessment, SROI/social-value measurement, Theory of Change or SDG-aligned monitoring
- Relevant project-management, MEL or impact-measurement qualification/certification
- Additional language skills relevant to an international project portfolio
- Experience participating in, coaching, managing or otherwise working within volleyball and/or sport
