Uganda–Kenya Sports & Leisure Exchange Tour 2026 Kicks Off In Style

Over the Easter Weekend, Sports Tourism Limited had the privilege of hosting the Muungano Soccer Clubs platform — popularly known as "The Sunday Morning Show" — for a unique multi-city football and travel experience across Kenya.

This was not just a tour. It was a deliberately designed sports tourism journey.

Why Kisumu & Nairobi? Why Three Different Venues?

Because true sports travel is about variety of experience:

  • A lakeside football atmosphere in Kisumu
  • A modern high-performance military facility in Nairobi
  • A vibrant community ground with artificial turf energy in Dandora

Each destination was selected to create memorable, diverse and immersive experiences — both on and off the pitch.

Celebrating Legends, Building Bridges

With more than 40 delegates — Ugandan football legends, professionals and entrepreneurs — this tour embodied the true power of:

  • Sports diplomacy between two neighbouring football nations
  • Cultural exchange through shared meals, conversations and travel
  • Business networking that opens doors well beyond the pitch

The Experience Architects

From arrival to departure, Sports Tourism Limited curated a seamless journey:

  • Airport and road transfers, multi-city logistics
  • Hotel bookings and team check-ins
  • Matchday coordination across venues
  • Stakeholder and networking engagements
  • Destination and cultural experiences

We don't just plan tours. We design unforgettable sports journeys.

A Clear Signal — East Africa Is Rising

With growing interest from high commissions, corporates and regional stakeholders, this tour confirmed what we have long believed: East Africa is rising as a unified sports tourism destination.

When Uganda and Kenya can move teams, share venues and host each other at this level, the region as a whole becomes far more attractive to:

  • Continental clubs looking for warm-weather training bases
  • International federations exploring East African hosting
  • Global brands seeking authentic regional sports stories

The Rivalry Continues Across Borders

Plans are already in motion for all three Kenyan teams to head to Uganda later this year for an exciting return leg against their hosts. Cross-border football. Cross-border travel. Cross-border opportunity.

Next stop — Match Day 1, Kisumu.
